Stroud District Council
Stroud and its surrounding villages sit among rolling Cotswold valleys and woodlands in Gloucestershire overlooking the Severn. Residents in the Stroud district tend to be keen recyclers and are very aware of environmental issues.
We have worked for many years with Stroud District Council in the promotions of their waste and recycling activities. Stroud DC were one of the original partners in the Gloucestershire Waste Campaign which we ran for a number of years using landfill tax credit funding.
Projects have included everything from campaigns to raise recycling rates, introduction of new services across the whole district, roadshows and trials of new collection systems such as the Stanleys food waste collection trials. We have used an extensive range of media including livery, posters, stickers, literature, newspaper adverts, newsletters and various displays. Below are a few examples of the recent work:
Introductory leaflet
This is the introductory leaflet for the Stanleys food waste trials which was run to find out the effectiveness of separate food waste collections and the introduction of wheeled bins for the collection of residual waste. Stroud do not collect garden waste so a combined collection was not an option.

An interesting feature of this trial was the extent to which householders were consulted on the scheme and the promotional material, for example a focus group was set up to comment on the draft designs. Surprisingly this was conducted so effectively that there was no hold up in the production of the final designs; designs received that day were emailed out and commented upon by the following morning.
Collection calendars
We produce an annual collection calendar for Stroud's recycling services. They are one of the councils for whom we produce a calendar with a magnetic strip so that it can be easily attached to a fridge door.

Newsletters
Residents on the Stanleys trial received a regular newsletter from the Council to let them know how the trial was progressing and it was important to get feedback from the householders point of view. To facilitate this we created two sided newsletters which included a questionnaire that folds and seals, creating its own pre-paid envelope. This has been an easy and reliable method of returning completed questionnaires to gather valuable feedback.

Displays
We have produced numerous displays for the council such as A-frame designs used to promote drop in events during the Stanleys trials and Good Trader Agreement pop up display.
