Milton Keynes Council
With a population of over 225,000 Milton Keynes Council works with Serco to provide its recycling and waste services. Get it Sorted works with Serco to ensure that their communications in Milton Keynes are focused and effective.
Below are a few examples taken from our recent campaign for the introduction of new food and garden waste collections:
Introductory Leaflet
As part of the major introduction of these new services a 4 page introduction leaflet was posted to all households in Milton Keynes.

This explained the new service, when it would be introduced, what would be collected and the benefits to the community and the environment. This also provided householders with prior warning of the delivery of their new garden waste bins.
Posters and displays
Information posters were displayed in town centre locations and pop up displays were produced to raise awareness of the scheme before it was rolled out.

Newspaper Wrap
Local papers were enclosed in wrap-arounds outlining the new services. This gave a large area for information that would be visible throughout Milton Keynes

Instructional Leaflet

Bin Hanger
Recycling crews were provided with contamination hangers to hang on bins if they had been contaminated with the wrong materials. These hangers also reinforced the materials that could be put into the food and garden waste collection bins.
